After the indian government passed a law to regulate surrogacy and IVF treatment in india in 2021, only allowing married women to have children through surrogacy, it appears that the extremely lucrative business has moved to countries outside India.
According to media reports, the customs had detained women returning from Bangkok Thailand which they visited for IVF treatment.
The women from Thane, Kalyan were associated with Elite care clinic in Thane. Sunoti Belele from Kalyan was running the clinic and supplying single women for surrogacy and egg donation to clients in India and abroad.
Fake marriage certificates were generated for the single women egg donors to comply with the indian surrogacy law.
